Responsible AI at NIIOMA
Last updated: 2 August 2026
Artificial intelligence is central to how NIIOMA works. It powers the matching between enterprises and vendors, shapes recommendations across the platform and augments the expertise we bring to our Cognitive Services. Because AI influences decisions that matter to businesses and people, we hold ourselves to clear principles.
Our principles
Human judgement first
AI at NIIOMA assists decision-making. It does not replace it. Every recommendation, match or insight generated by our platform is designed to inform a human decision, not to make one. No enterprise is matched to a vendor, no content is prioritised and no advisory recommendation is delivered without the opportunity for human review.
Transparency
We are open about where and how AI is used across our services. When a feature on NIIOMA OS is powered by AI, such as vendor-enterprise matching, NiioFeed recommendations or smart search, we make this clear. We do not present AI-generated outputs as human-authored.
Privacy and data protection
User data processed through our AI features is used solely to deliver the relevant service. We process data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws.
AI training commitment: NIIOMA does not permit third-party AI providers to use your private content to train their general-purpose models, except where an organisation has expressly opted in. Our AI sub-processor, Anthropic (Claude API), operates under a data processing agreement that prohibits the use of customer data for model training.
Fairness
We design our AI systems to avoid unfair bias. Our matching and recommendation algorithms are built to surface relevant connections based on business fit, capability and stated needs, not on factors such as company size, geography or demographic characteristics unless these are explicit user preferences. We regularly review our systems for unintended bias.
Accountability
NIIOMA is responsible for the outputs of our AI features. If an AI-powered recommendation is inaccurate, misleading or causes concern, we want to hear about it. Users may contact us at ai@niioma.com to request a review of any AI-assisted output or to raise concerns.
How we use AI
Within NIIOMA OS
- Enterprise-vendor matching: AI analyses company profiles, stated needs and platform activity to suggest relevant connections between enterprises seeking technology solutions and vendors offering them.
- NiioFeed recommendations: content in the ecosystem feed is ranked and recommended based on relevance to your profile, interests and professional context.
- Smart search: AI enhances search results across the platform to surface the most relevant profiles, content and opportunities.
- Communication insights: where enabled, AI may provide summaries, suggested responses or action items from conversations and meetings to help users work more efficiently.
Within Cognitive Services
- Innovation scouting: AI helps identify emerging technology trends and map them to enterprise needs at scale.
- Vendor assessment: AI analyses vendor positioning, market fit and competitive landscape to support advisory recommendations.
- Growth intelligence: AI processes market signals and engagement data to help vendors refine their go-to-market strategy.
In all Cognitive Services engagements, AI is paired with senior human expertise. Every deliverable is reviewed and shaped by experienced professionals.
Data and AI sub-processors
Our primary AI processing is carried out through the Claude API, provided by Anthropic. Anthropic’s data handling practices include the following commitments: customer data is not used to train foundation models, data is processed in accordance with their enterprise data processing terms, and processing is subject to appropriate security measures and access controls.
Details of all sub-processors are available in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
AI for good
We commit 5% of our revenue to work that applies AI to social and environmental challenges. Our focus includes peace, children, poverty alleviation, food security and climate resilience. We believe progress only matters when more people share in it.
Your rights
You have the right to know when AI is involved in a recommendation or decision that affects you, to request human review of any AI-assisted output, to opt out of specific AI-powered features where alternatives exist, and to raise concerns about AI outputs with our team.
